This year has had it’s fair share of ups & downs and at any rate, I’m ready to take on 2011 with an open mind. There are so many exciting things to look forward to next year and I can’t wait to share them each with you.
A few things to discuss before we say bon voyage to the year:
1) Remember this post? Well, I am starting the guest room remodel immediately and can’t wait to put a look together inspired by this:
Of course I will post the before, after and probably 23 in between.
2) There are a TON of new items coming up on Tres Jolie Bebe. I can’t even begin to tell you how cute this stuff is. Girl, boy or both! Stay tuned for announcements of new products. Also in January, look for us on Harper’s Happenings!
3) A pretty big deal here: I’m moving! It may mean nothing to you on the reader side, but you will notice a new look starting tomorrow! {Assuming the move goes off with out a hitch} All feedback is welcome so let me know what you think. You can email me at tres_jolie23@hotmail.com at anytime.
4) I’ve got a trip to Boston coming up in 10 days and the first week back at work after a 12 day holiday is going to hit hard. Please excuse me if you do not hear from me for a few days. I’ll have a case of the busies.

These are the girls that I’m spending the last weekend in September with. I don’t think the four of us have been together since this picture was taken………. And that was almost 3 years ago. I’m not even engaged yet in this photo and I’ve been married 2 yrs. That pretty little Bride there has now been married 3 years next month. As a matter of fact, the lady on the far left has since had adorable twin boys!!
We’re headed to the beach to for 3 days this month and I couldn’t be more excited. We always have a good time together so I know this trip wont be any different!

So here I am in Chicago at yet another hotel. Somewhere between business and pleasure there is a little bit to learn at almost any hotel. Over the years these are the things I’ve picked up on, learned to stay away from, or truly enjoyed about the ol’ “home away from home”.
- I love, love, love, love that you can never run out of hot water. (Now I’ve probably jinxed myself.) I love to lie down in a shower and let it rain on me for as long as possible. I am unable to do this at my house unless I go to a guest bath and that doesn’t ever happen. Beyond that, I only take baths when I can leave the water running and the drain unplugged. (Its a circulation thing, don’t ask.) Now- I wont take baths in hotels because that gives me some SERIOUS eeby jeebies. So, basically the fact that I can sit/lie/bathe in the shower for 2 hours if I would like makes me happy.
- Why do all the soaps smell the same? I’ve been to different countries, different hotels and all the bar soap smells the same. Let’s try and switch that up, ok hotels??
- I’ve read this somewhere once and have done it ever since: On the last day in your room, take a uber hot shower (see my joy in this mentioned above). Once the mirror is all fogged up, write with your finger “HELLO JOHN”. Now, the odds of the person staying in the room after you being named John are slim to none. But if they are………………………… WOAH! (I switch this name up often to broaden my odds)
- I never check into a hotel that doesn’t have a fridge in the room. If there isn’t supposed to be one in there, you call ahead and ask them to have one in your room for medicine that has to be refrigerated. Voila’ - it works every time. Now fill it with H20, Juice, even ice cream!
Now, this is a short list because I’m meeting a girlfriend here in the city for dinner. I’ll keep this going as I travel from here on out.
