It seems like I’m always saying that “I just can’t believe people now days” or mentioning my growing lack of faith in society. I may or may not have also been a little Scroogey this year to top it off. Spoiler Alert: I have been. But just when you think you’ve figured it out you get a sweet message on your Facebook from a retired soldier in New Jersey. No, really.
During my first semester of college at Southeastern Louisiana University I strategically scheduled my kinesiology early in the morning with a super long break until the rest of my classes. This way I could roll onto campus in my pjs, shower after class and head to the Union for lunch. Obviously the go-getter attitude employers are expecting.
We didn’t have co-ed showers and since our classes were so early we rarely locked our lockers. I had actually locked mine on this specific day. After getting out of swim class (I know, I know. Go-getter to the max) we noticed that our locks had been cut and everyone’s lockers were open. I was a waitress at the time (insert cliche’ here) and had a decent amount of cash that was stolen along with my checkbook (A Precious Moment’s checkbook to be exact) and my jewelry. In my jewelry that was thieved was my class ring. That was the last day I saw it…………….until yesterday.
On my way to Houston last weekend I got a message on Facebook from a gentleman who told me that he bought a bag of used jewelry and there was a class ring inside with my name on it. Thank the Lord that I have had a unique first and last name and he was able to find me on Facebook with my highschool & full name. Thanks technology.
When I replied to inform him that it was in fact me I also told him that it was stolen from me almost 11 years ago. I thought I would never see that thing again. Ironically, I was just telling Paul a few weeks ago that I wanted to order one from the same company and keep to give to our kids. Well, this kind man sent me back my long lost ring along with a little note that stated:
“Enjoy this ring once again. Happy Birthday & Happy Holidays.”
Um, hello faith in society. Welcome back.
So if you’re feeling a little hum-buggish this year just know that there actually ARE some decent people out there. Maybe only in New Jersey, but they’re out there.
Wow. That was no fun. Tumblr has been down for almost 2 days! In all actuality it was at a perfect time because I have been entirely too busy to post! Tres Jolie Bebe is going smashingly and I am enjoying both working with my Mom as well as getting the adorableness that we’re selling to babies & Mommies everywhere! If you haven’t checked it out, I highly recommend it (Of course). Amazing new stuff being added this week so be sure to keep checking back & follow us on twitter.
Now, back to the real world. I went home to Houston this past weekend for my short boyfriend’s birthday. He was turning the big ONE and I wouldn’t have missed it. I was able to see some wonderful friends, have a night on the town and other than Paul not being able to come it was wonderful.
That little nugget LuElla up there (I know, that picture = swoon) was boarded while I was gone and I couldn’t pick her up until today after work. I’ve never seen a puggle’s tail wag so fast! I’ve gotta confess………….Mine was kind of wagging too. I love that little pups.
New items will be added weekly so stay tuned and subscribe to the feeds, “like” our Facebook page and follow us on twitter to get up to date information on new items, sales and GIVEAWAYS!

This precious little girl up there is Miss Indie Blue. That adorable belly growing Indie’s little brother (ok, maybe little sister) belongs to one of my best friends Katy. This picture graced my inbox this week and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me. Indie is a riot. A plain old riot and I can honestly say that she get’s it from her Mama. Katy and I had some of the best times of our lives growing up and I can not wait to hear the stories that Indie will have with her friends.
Even at two, she cracks me up. I know that someday there will be another little boy or girl that enjoys her friendship as much as I do her Mom’s.
*Not only is she a great friend but she is a fabulous photographer. Her work with families is to die for and she can travel worldwide. If you are in need of a great photographer check her out at Katy Marshall Photography.

Keeping with the theme of 80’s videos I’ve been ordering for yet-to-be-conceived Baby Daniels, I recently obtained the entire collection of Today’s Special and Pinwheel. Just hearing the theme songs to these classics overwhelms me with joy. I used to LOVE watching these when I got home from school each day. Since we’ve already bought Heathcliff and every Looney Tunes ever made our poor child will probably be AMAZED the day they see new Japanimation or some kind of Hannah Montana junk at their friends house. (I also found the entire seasons of David the Gnome. I know, I know. SWOON!)
I don’t want to deprive them of the new stuff, simply appreciate the old stuff too.
Besides being a wonderful southern belle, my Mother has a way with threads. We’re talking blue ribbon winner year after year at the state fair kinda way. No, my Mom is not the Nugget of Joy this week (although she has brought me such joy for 29 years!!) but these sweet little shoes she made instead!!
I was doing the ol “shop for the anticipated baby” search on Etsy and found a pattern for some adorable little shoes for infants. I purchased the pattern and sent the .pdf to her via email (we live 600 miles apart). Then I headed to the fabric store to pick out some funky little fabrics & buttons to mail her asap! A week or so later: voila’!

Um, I’m sorry……………….Did you not see that adorableness?? I just swoon over these little soft loafers. I went with big bright buttons with funky fabric or vintage print and plaid with wooden buttons for a vintage feel. Unisex is a must because 1) I have oh so many friends waiting to find out the sex of their baby and 2) I have oh so many friends that like bright colored unisex prints for their girls and modern boys. Those feather nuggets up there are one of our favorites. Of course there are still some precious floral prints with pearly buttons for the girlie girl. And my Mom threw in a sequined pair with ballerina print insoles!! Ugh, swoon I tell ya.
I ran across this little number when totally maybe shopping for baby clothes online for our yet to be conceived child. There is a TON of cutester stuff on www.theretrobaby.com that I just adore, but this heart onesie that says “Get in here” is just too much. How about you get on over there and peep out their cute stuff for newborn-kids!
Another item that I’ll probably totally add to my cart is the “My other shirt is a Trans-Am” onesie. Between that and the super duper cute but highly over priced Bob Marley dresses I think I just might go broke!
These are the types of things that I say to my husband when he’s gone. So I drew a diddy to send him.
Only 2 more days.

Oh please, please, please make it to my house you oh wonderful box of yumz. How can you be so cute. My Hello Kitty tattoo needs you in its life. SWOON I tell ya, swoon.

My wonderful husbie did the “We’re not buying gifts this year” fake out and snuck in with diamonds & pearls!! He surprised me with a Diamond Fleur De Lys pendant and a classic length white pearl set - earrings and necklace. SWOON I tell ya, swoon.
Number one favorite song of all time. From Porgy & Bess, Ella Fitzgerald to Melody Gardot. SWOON………..
