My fellow Texas blogger, Lauren over at Lauren from Texas asked for some nomilicious recipes a week or so ago via twitter. Luckily, the above recipe is SO easy that you can almost deliver it in the infamous 140 characters or less so I sent it over to her as quickly as I could. I like to make mine with white chocolate but you can use whatever you’d like!
Head over to her blog to see how they turned out and get other yummy recipes just in time for the holidays.
So I’ve been absent, I know. My apologies. I’ve been busy, Paul has been home, and I’ve had some internet issues. Something else that I’ve done is NOT OVULATED!!!! Hmph. Well, there are still a few days left but I’ve been very “Hey, let’s all just get negative now!” lately and have (almost) emotionally given up. Every morning I have to take my LH test I totally cop out and say “I’m not doing it today. What’s the point if it’s just going to be negative?”. Of course I still take it, because deep down I just know it’s going to be the day. Tomorrow will be the day. Yes.
Moving onto a lighter note……………………ACL is in 2 days. About time. I’ve been waiting for this for a while. For those of you non music fans (do those exist? really?) ACL is the Austin City Limits Festival that takes place here in Austin, TX over 3 days and has over 130 bands down in Zilker Park (the “moon tower” party in Dazed & Confused was filmed there). The weather here in Texas has been sensational (although entirely too cold for moi) so this weekend is sure to be a success. Prepare yourself for many-a-acl posts come Friday. And who knows, maybe Friday will be “the day”. I will totally skeev my kid out and let them know that they were conceived during the one and only fest. I’m sure they’d love to know these things.

Just in case I haven’t blogged about it enough lately, I am overly squee thrilled with the fact that 1) today is my Friday, and 2) I am headed down to the beach tomorrow for a reunion style girls weekend that is SURE to be a blast.
One of the gals that is leaving behind the husband (and twins monkeys) is Jenny from the block. Yeah, that block. She’s driving all the way from the sticks Louisiana to join us in Galveston. The other two ladies are both in Houston and I’m of course driving in from Austin. There is some serious rain and storm action on the radar for this weekend, but since we planned on lots of chick flicks, face masks and vino I think we’ll be jussssssst fine.
*Note: When reviewing recently my Nuggets of Joy I found that apparently Nugget of Joy No.4 and Nugget of Joy No.7 did not feel the need of showing up to the party. So yes this is basically like Nugget of Joy No.7, but lets just pretend it’s like the 13th floor and skip ‘em….. ok? Thanks.
Spent the weekend at a house on the lake to watch the UT game and had every intention on going swimming. The weather didn’t permit the pool time but we did enjoy the lake view and outside living areas to grill and watch Texas win. I know I say this on an almost daily basis, but I love this city more than snow cones in June.
The overcast weather resulted in a major squinty self shot and some foggy-ish view shots, and yes that is a helicopter on the house across the lake. Austinites are big fans of chopping to and from their massive homes. Must be nice.
These are the girls that I’m spending the last weekend in September with. I don’t think the four of us have been together since this picture was taken………. And that was almost 3 years ago. I’m not even engaged yet in this photo and I’ve been married 2 yrs. That pretty little Bride there has now been married 3 years next month. As a matter of fact, the lady on the far left has since had adorable twin boys!!
We’re headed to the beach to for 3 days this month and I couldn’t be more excited. We always have a good time together so I know this trip wont be any different!
A sneak peak at the GORGEOUS wedding of Justin & Cassidy Berenato. The weekend was documented by the lovely Kristen Critz at Kristen Rae Photography. We had the most fun all weekend and sent the summer off with a bang. Congrats again to the beautiful Bride & Groom!!
More pictures to come of course…………………

Two crappy phone pictures that I still just adore- (NOT by Kristen Rae and included above)
1) The beautiful bride in her Mrs. Berenato robe relaxing before getting into her gown. The room (although 19 degrees warmer than the rest of the place) was so gorgeous and totally fit with the “Vintage Romance” theme.
2) ummm, CUTESTER ALERT! That little guy is Caleb. He was a ring bearer and was joined by some other cutesters down the aisle. His mini tux and tiny Chucks just kill me.
Labor Day weekend already. Hard to believe it’s September. But don’t we say that every year? It’s like we’re always shocked when we get closer to the holidays. “I can’t believe its August!” heard across offices everywhere. Well, this Labor Day weekend really is a big close to summer for us. We’ve got so much planned and it seems to be the most appropriate way to say farewell to suntans, lake parties and river trips.
This three day weekend is packed with weddings, barbecues and friends - new and old. Paul and I are both are in a wedding for our dear friends Cassidy & Justin on Sunday and we are uber excited. They are tieing the knot out at Thurman’s Mansion in Driftwood, Texas and I am so proud to be a part of it.
After this weekend it will be time for Paul to return to work for 3 weeks, me to return to the doctors and the “Fall” bin to be removed from the attic (Albeit kicking and screaming for sure).
Thanks Summer 2010 for being “meh”.
I am SSSOOOO looking forward to this MUCHO needed little get away. At the end of this month we’ve rented a condo on the beach for 4 old gal pals to eat, drink and be merry. We plan on doing nothing but cooking, watching old chick flicks and drinking wine in the hot tub. Sounds like an amazing weekend already.
Although I think he left out one of my second favorite things about this amazing city - THE LAKES. 87% of our summer is spent on those lakes, please don’t forget them.
One of these days I’m going to sit and write my “Reasons why I love this city” list. Until then, just google it.
I’m going to a bridal shower in Dallas, TX this weekend and got this totally bridal shower appropriate little number. I’ll be wearing it with my Charles by Charles David nude sandals and some nude-ish, baby pink nails. Unsure one what to go with on the nail color. Feel free to suggest!

I just booked our Beach Bungalow for the GIRLS WEEKEND in late September. We’ve already made plans to cook fabulous meals, lay in the sun as much as possible, bring our favorite chick flick, cards for poker and COPIOUS amounts of vino.
The 4 of us haven’t been together in almost 4 years so it will be LONG over due. We finally decided to make this annual- but this is technically our first trip.

My fab friend Cassidy is getting hitched with a ‘vintage romance’ wedding in the Hill Country of Texas. Can I get a “Heck Yes!”? (Using that darling little graphic right up there for part of the invite too. Mmmm hmm.)
